Well in these cases go to any standard book and read throughly about those topics. I dont know from which stream you are but if it is possible try to collect some GATE question paper on Pharmaceutical Science. Those type of question are asked.
e.g. in case of IR, UV, Visible the different ranges of frequency, frequency range of IR for the detection of different chemical group like aldehyde, ketone etc. Different detector and source of rays for them.
For chromatography and other things different reagents used like mobile phase sorbent etc are important. Assay of different drugs, particulary for which drug which method is used is very important. Try to solve these. Good luck..........
