How can I control of a arrogant employeee in my company as if I am the project manger?

That depends on the situation and your company's policies.





If he is publically abusive to you, report the FACTS (no personal opinions) to your supervisor and ask what the appropriate action should be. This could be anything from a written or verbal warning, to a temporary suspension, depending on the severity and frequency of the action. Certainly do not let the behavior continue.

If you try to control any human being you will never get to be on his better side. First believe that controlling is not what you need. First, you need to get close to the person by being nice to him/her and try to befriend him. Breaking the ice is important. Dont overdo it, he may only laugh behind your back. Give him some appreciation mildly when he shows good results. Ask him for his opinion on some topics. When he shows a little change in his attitude, call him for a discussion and tell him that at one time you saw him as somebody with a lot of attitude and arrogance. Tell him that the work place should be fun for all to be in, be it a senior or junior. Best results are obtained only when people work as teams.





You know, many arrogant persons put up the arrogance as some kind of a screen to hide their weaknesses. If you are smart enough, you will find ways and means of subtly finding out those weaknesses and ever so subtly let him know that you know about them. But be supportive of him to win him over. The most difficult task for a leader is to win all his subordinates to look up to him and follow him. This you have to earn over a long period of time, but I guarantee you, its the key. For this you dont have to pamper them or suck up to people. First, you have to excel in the field yourself - you should have more knowledge than your subordinates or team mates. Next, you should have full faith and trust in them and should know fully well their limitations. Also you should help them to overcome their weaknesses and encourage them in areas they show strength. Be polite always, but be firm. Lastly, but most importantly, improve your communication skills - your grammar, oratory, written and body language. Man with all this in depth you can win the world.
