My husband works for a County controlled company, and one of the other employees is threatening physical harm?

It's hard not to see this consolidation of media as a threat. In the old Soviet Union there were only two major newspapers...Tass and Trud...News and Truth, both owned by the government. As the russians said, there was no news in Tass and no truth in Trud. Here in the states the 'government' doesn't have a direct hand in 'the media', but as time goes on much of the 'media' has developed a love affair with 'the government'....particularly the Republican party. As much as the right wing talk show guys complain about the 'liberal' media, in real life there ain't no such a thing. It's hard not to see this consolidation of media as a threat. In the old Soviet Union there were only two major newspapers...Tass and Trud...News and Truth, both owned by the government. As the russians said, there was no news in Tass and no truth in Trud. Here in the states the 'government' doesn't have a direct hand in 'the media', but as time goes on much of the 'media' has developed a love affair with 'the government'....particularly the Republican party. As much as the right wing talk show guys complain about the 'liberal' media, in real life there ain't no such a thing. How can I regain control of my domain, when another company registered it and puts nothing up there?
I lost control of my domain, when my web hosting didn't renew it on time + neglected to tell me that THEY didn't actually renew the domains, they just paid someone else to do it. Hi, I am landlord. The tenant in a triplex called me earlier mentioning he has bed bugs. The tenant also mentioned he knows how the bed bugs got there - he went to visit a lady who had bed bugs and probably carried some in his cloth back to his unit. It should cost around $500 to treat his unit and 2 other units (as it is a triplex all units should be treated). Unfortunately, I'm not sure he has the money to pay even if he had to. Still, I wanted to ask who should pay the pest control company?

It may not be necessary to treat all units if this is caught early on. I have showed him the same bug three times but told him I have caught it in differentiates when really its the same bug I caught in the same area and he always says its a different bug and then when I question him about it he says it must have been someone else or I misunderstood what he said. Would I sue the doctor or birth control company?
Okay so I started taking loestrin 24 Fe and developed a blood clot in a deep vein and my doctors said it was due to taking birth control and my family doctor said any doctor with common sense would never put me on birth control because I have a disease that puts me at a very very great risk to get blood clots.So wouldn't the obgyn that put me on the pill have my charts and known about my disease? Should we sue the obgyn or the birth control company? Me and my mom never knew anything about birth control causing blood clots the obgyn never informed us of this. This is not a money thing having this blood clot has put me through hell as well as my mom. Also alot of medical bills and I have to take medicine for the rest of my life because of this blood clot.

you didn't KNOW birth control pills cause blood clots ? do you know how to READ ? the information packet that comes with the pills CLEARLY states this as a possible side effect of the medication. because they have this information available there is going to be a very slim chance you could sue this company and win anything.

If you survived this ordeal, then you've come away with the knowledge that you can't always trust doctors and you have to dig deeper sometimes. All birth control commercials tell you about the risk of blood clots, as do the websites, and any pharmacist. Did you know that you had risk for developing blood clots? If you didn't tell your ob/gyn, then he/she may not have known. Not all medical records are electronic -- they would only know the information that you gave. By the way... I'm not trying to be rude - my son and I nearly died during his birth, and I spent the next several weeks in ICU fighting for my life. However, I did not sue. I was grateful that my son and I were healthy at the end. I did file a complaint against the doctor though. Good luck!
Okay so I started taking loestrin 24 Fe and developed a blood clot in a deep vein and my doctors said it was due to taking birth control and my family doctor said any doctor with common sense would never put me on birth control because I have a disease that puts me at a very very great risk to get blood clots.So wouldn't the obgyn that put me on the pill have my charts and known about my disease? (Right now I live in Appalachia.....so there are a lot of Trolls...and Dollar Generals)
Anyway......I talked to the Troll for a little while....and it had some good to say
.....just wasn't quite sure how to say it......So it lacked communication skills
Must be tough being a Troll......and growing up around all that
';Trollish Negativity';.....some of it is bound to rub off
Just the fact that they are willing to read what someone else wrote
Shows there is hope.....maybe........
Especially if all the nice pretty elves....and Hobbits can learn to understand

Some places are a breeding grounds for such pests...they love romping about there :) They are tough to get rid of...and even if you do, there's another variety, of brand new viruses, ready to attack!

Do you work for a pest control company? Please help.?
I have a really bad problem with german roaches. I have tried all methods of killing these pests but finally had to break down and call a local company to come and help. It worked for a while but the cost was throw the roof.
I need to find out what prodect most professional companys use to kill German cockroaches. The company that I currently works for (a chemical company) has contacts in which it can get these (and other) types of prodects at a reduced rate.
If you know what they use please let me know. I have 2 littles one at home and I really need to get rid of these bugs for health reasons.... and they gross me out.
BTW, I do keep a very clean house but because we live in Fl and with all the weather and stuff I am having a hard time. These bugs where in the house when we bought it and only got worse with time.Do you work for a pest control company? Please help.?
I have worked for a company in the past that did residential pest control. I don't know what chemicals were used but I do know they were supposed to be natural and harmless to humans. They were fairly expensive products.
We would inject the walls where bugs were suspected with a dust, especially wet walls because they tended to nest there for the moisture. We would use a pressure hose to spray the outside of the house all the way around and we would granulate the yard.
The only pest specific things I remember were for ants and rats but it was in Virginia where roaches aren't as big a problem.
The company I worked for got bought out a few years ago so I can't find the specific products we used.

But I do remember we would always get a few irate people who started seeing bugs in their home immediately after we came the first time or would see more bugs then they thought they had. The way we got it into walls was a glorified hole in your wall that we would then plug with a hollow plastic tube with a cap on it so we could reapply easily. We would normally hide the holes under sinks. It is safe for humans. Versions of Diatomaceous Earth are actually sold as a dietary supplement.
There is a good chance that the granulation we used in the yard was a product of the same stuff. The effect was again the same as inside. People would report a lot of activity shortly after using the product which would then usually completely disappear. Though our pest control service was a monthly, bimonthly, or quarterly service, when we would come back and reapply the products.
The spray we used sounds like it was a pyrethrin of some kind. One of the selling points we were told to impress on customers is that it was made from Chrysanthemum flowers. Doing a tad bit of research shows that it is a nurotoxin and there are many different specific products. It can be harmful to humans in the right conditions so should be used in limited amounts. We would spray 6 ft up on the sides of the house and 6 ft. out into the yard from the house. We used a diluted mixture. I would be surprised if we used something fatal to insects. It was probably just enough strength to be a replant. I can't recommend a specific product as I do not know who our supplier was. We were mixing the concentrate in large water tanks installed into the back of pick-up trucks and used a pressure hose to apply it. I only looked around for a few minutes but wasn't able to find a great deal of information that wasn't just designed to sell a product. I am sure you can get more detail though if you look around. The only informative entry I found was a blog entry.

If you have 2 little ones at home, and you're concerned about your health, I can't imagine why you'd want to spray pesticides inside your very own home - truthfully, I can't imagine you'd even want to work for a chemical company with such a bad product line, either, for that matter.
Boric Acid is non-toxic, a generic product, and I guarantee the MSD Data Sheet will be a LOT safer than any branded product your company makes or sells. They'd probably sell Boric Acid, too, but they can't make any profit on it, because it's generic. THAT'S the real reason and only reason this common-sense product isn't used more. Otherwise, caulk the joints in your kitchen these roaches are hiding behind, and keep food in containers. Those things help too.

depends on how big they are... small ones can be caught in mouse traps but larger more aggressive ones have to be shot with a large caliber handgun, so you will need a very qualified agency to get that job done.

Some places are a breeding grounds for such pests...they love romping about there :) They are tough to get rid of...and even if you do, there's another variety, of brand new viruses, ready to attack!

I have a really bad problem with german roaches. I have tried all methods of killing these pests but finally had to break down and call a local company to come and help. It worked for a while but the cost was throw the roof.
I need to find out what prodect most professional companys use to kill German cockroaches. The company that I currently works for (a chemical company) has contacts in which it can get these (and other) types of prodects at a reduced rate.
If you know what they use please let me know. I have 2 littles one at home and I really need to get rid of these bugs for health reasons.... and they gross me out.

We would inject the walls where bugs were suspected with a dust, especially wet walls because they tended to nest there for the moisture. We would use a pressure hose to spray the outside of the house all the way around and we would granulate the yard.
The only pest specific things I remember were for ants and rats but it was in Virginia where roaches aren't as big a problem.
The company I worked for got bought out a few years ago so I can't find the specific products we used.

If you have 2 little ones at home, and you're concerned about your health, I can't imagine why you'd want to spray pesticides inside your very own home - truthfully, I can't imagine you'd even want to work for a chemical company with such a bad product line, either, for that matter.
Boric Acid is non-toxic, a generic product, and I guarantee the MSD Data Sheet will be a LOT safer than any branded product your company makes or sells. They'd probably sell Boric Acid, too, but they can't make any profit on it, because it's generic. THAT'S the real reason and only reason this common-sense product isn't used more. Otherwise, caulk the joints in your kitchen these roaches are hiding behind, and keep food in containers. Those things help too.

There was no existing insect problem. They just applied the gel every 6 months as a preventative thing. I realize that this product was approved for use in the U.S. of course and is considered generally safe. But I was pregnant at the time. I'm moving to a new apartment soon where they'll likely apply the insecticide gel under the sink again. So I'd just like to know some info, such as the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) or something regarding the effects of breathing around the chemicals in this type of gel.

Should insurance companies control what dogs you can have?
I have read a few other questions regarding pit bulls and other ';dangerous'; dogs, and have been shocked by knowing that insurances can make pet decisions for you.
Listen, I do believe that the owner should be responsible for its dogs, but that doesn't mean that you can't have certain breeds. I think the government should limit itself to controlling where these dogs are being kept. These are living beings we are talking about, and we treat them as if they were commodities.

It kinda blows, but its the fact of Private/Public Ownership of a Corporation in a Capitalist Society. You don't like it, change insurance companies. Write your Congressman. Vote down any laws that make one species illegal and another legal. Insurance companies are private companies and they have the right to refuse you or to accept you as a client. Here the state regulates the insurance so you don't really have much of a choice as to who covers you; however, some states you have a whole line of choice to who covers you for property and different rules and regulations.
Just like car insurance companies charge a different rate based on how you drive, at times not even that but your age and sex. They give a higher rate towards those under 25 and male as to female who are under 25. Or perhaps a higher rate to males over 25 tan females over 25. They may not cover someone charged with a DUI. They even charge different rates based on the car you drive.They have the right to do this, because they want to judge how much you are a risk to their company based on what you drive, your sex, age, etc. That's unfair itself. They don't charge a rate based on knowing you and yourself personally but based on a record or if you don't have a record based on others in your group/age/sex/etc.
I am assuming the same things go for dogs. You can have a really sweet dog that is consider a dangerous dog, but they don't see that.They don't really know you as a person nor know your dog. All they see is that you own this breed of dog and based on the history of others is what your rate is going to be. In the end they need to consider how much of a risk you are to them and what their loss is going to be.
Since each insurance company (that isn't regulated by the state) has their own rules/regulations, you have to read the fine print and try to figure out a company that works best for you with the type of pets you own.
know my renters insurance knows I have a dog on the premises but they told me that the breed of the dog doesn't matter as long as I have the 1 dog that I signed for. Which is good. I don't know how dangerous my dog is consider to be by others or my insurance company (miniature pinscher), but she sure made my mail person jump when she barked @ her (even though inside she's really incredibly friendly and will bark @ a person and then run up to them and play).

No they shouldnt in any way be able to dictate to you what you can and can not have but then again the owners should be held more responsible for the actions of their pets and since they dont insurance companys have to make rules. A couple bad owners will ruin it for the majority!

Many Ins. co's require owners of certain breeds to pay extra for insurance because these breeds are seen as more likely to result in a claim. If you own a fast car or a car more likely to be stolen, you pay more too.
If you live within 50 feet of a fire hydrant you pay less than someone who lives 700 feet away from a hydrant.
If you own a dog of a ';dangerous'; breed that passes the canine good citizen test held by the akc your insurance rate goes down because you have established the good behavior of the dog.
Just like taking driver's classes as a kid means lower car insurance.
So, the companies aren't saying you can't own a certain breed (or certain car) what they are saying is that statistically it puts you in a higher risk category and you have to pay for that.
Some co's. won't cover certain breeds? Change companies. Some co's won't insure you if you have a trampoline in your backyard...
They can't tell anyone what kind of pet they can have.They can however cancel or refuse coverage to an owner of a vicious dog.
They always ask what and how many pets are on the property and rates reflect that as liability insurance increases to cover the dog.One or 2 so called dangerous dogs won't hurt your premium but when they find out you've got 5-10 of these animals they will probably drop your coverage.The liability to them is too great.
The reason for this, is because some dogs actually will tear up the inside of the home to the point of walls have fallen. Also because some dogs are so agressive that they can actually break through windows to get to service people, mail carriers, delivery men, electrical workers, they have injured these people so badly, that they ended up in the hospital. Now, that makes the homeowner responsible, but its the homeowners insurance that will pay out for that. The insurance pays the hospital bills, and if the people decide to sue, which 99.99% of the time they do, and its the insurance company that pays that out. So you see, they do have the choice to say no you may not have that dog in your home. Which is why people that have these animals usually end up having the minimal home insurance, which means should soemthing actually happen to the home, it does'nt get repaired, unless the home is like burned down to the ground, or flooded.
They can't control what dogs we have, but they can control the policies they provide, or rather refuse to provide us.
Yes I do believe they should have that option . Should you choose to own a dangerous dog then it is you who are saying that you have the right to own that dog so in turn it is you who are opting to pay the higher insurance rates so that you may keep that type of dog. Those types of dogs have been known to tear through a window to get at people just passing the window . so you see the insurance would have to pay for any damages done to the innocent party. That my dear is the cost you pay for owning a dangerous dog. good luck .
Insurance companies are private companies and are entitled to decide whether or not they want to insure you or not. They don't ';control'; what dogs you can have, because that's entirely up to you. But I think insurance companies, because they are privately owned companies, are entitled to limit the risk that they're undertaking by refusing to provide insurance policies to homeowners or apartment renters who own certain, ';dangerous'; breeds of dogs.
Also, you mention a ';dog behaviourist';...maybe that would work, but it seems like it would cost the insurance companies a lot of money to figure out which ';dangerous'; dogs have been sufficiently trained, and which ones weren't, and the possibility of fraud seems pretty high.
Listen, I do believe that the owner should be responsible for its dogs, but that doesn't mean that you can't have certain breeds. I think the government should limit itself to controlling where these dogs are being kept. These are living beings we are talking about, and we treat them as if they were commodities.
